What is Defibsafe?
DefibSafe is WEL Medical’s first own brand and is Manufactured and shipped directly in the UK. WEL Medical have a close working relationship with the Manufacturer, a UK fabrication specialist.
Wel Medical Defibsafe partnership
After the British Heart Foundation chose the iPAD SP1 as the nominated defibrillator for their part-funding program (supplied via WEL Medical), it became clear that people wanted the convenience of being able to obtain both their defibrillator and a cabinet from the same supplier. It also became clear that WEL had limited options to recommend. So it was to develop an in-house brand of defibrillator cabinet. This ensures control over both the quality of the product and the supply chain.
WEL Medical sought out partnership to develop a more cost-effective but high quality defibrillator cabinet for customers and distribution partners. The result was DefibSafe: a new, lightweight, cost-effective alternative with many design features lacking in other units available on the market.
Since its launch in 2014 DefibSafe has been hugely popular and thousands of units have been placed all over the UK. It was one of the cabinets chosen by the British Heart Foundation as the cabinet for the £1 million Government fund for public access defibrillators in 2015.
